On Tuesday 28th February, I continued to complete my final
project proposal and bibliography with accurate Harvard referencing and
research. The workshop allowed me to complete section 3 of my project proposal
which explores on-going and final evaluation I will be generating throughout
the project. Also, the workshop allowed me to continue to generate my research
through books obtained at the library and gallery visits I will be exploring.
It has allowed me to identify my artists research and the primary research
obtained through my trip to New York City. Through the workshop, I have
continued to work through my sketchbook and generate further pages through
building up a variety of surface backgrounds and colour. It has allowed me to
build up emphasis of my primary research taken from my visit and using a
photocopier to generate engaging pages and identify areas which are most
inspiring. The task has allowed us to use critical and contextual perspectives
to prepare for the project proposal. Also, the task has allowed us to use
analysis and evaluation to prepare and organise my project proposal.
To start the task I discovered a problem with my Harvard
Referencing which was that the sources stated weren't in subject order of
books, websites and videos. To solve the problem I edited the bibliography and
placed them back in alphabetical order to achieve the accurate outcome. Through
my Harvard referencing I included further books generated from my research to
the library which explores the works of Grayson Perry and Andy Warhol. Once the
bibliography was generated I continued to edit section 3 of my project which
identifies my evaluation and on-going reflection. This allowed me to
demonstrate my understanding of reflection and how it will contribute to my project
outcomes. Through section 3 I highlighted ongoing reflection through blogs
which will include photographs, videos and links. Annotation will be on-going
and reflects the choice of media used, opinions and how it will contribute
towards my outcome. A journal will be used to reflect my research and visits
which has already been developed from my visit to New York. Analysis will be
highlighted through my sampling and technical file for my specialised area of
Textiles. For final reflection I will be completing a final evaluation
summarising the whole project and my outcome of my final piece. I was pleased
with my section 3 outcome and decided to work back into my research. I decided
to explore the theme of industry through my research of Grand Central station.
The attraction holds strong architecture and striking colours of wealth but
continues to support industry through the transport of trains and subways. To
reflect my interpretation I created a mirrored and symmetrical layout filled
with collage and postcards collected from my visit. Also, I used golden paper
surfaces generated to reinforce the idea of "wealth" and the theme of
"Art Deco" that was demonstrated. I used a photocopier to generate
the mirrored pattern and built the page within my sketchbook. The outcome is
presented below.
Next I am going to complete my timetable for the project
proposal as I was unable to complete it within the time given. Also, I am going
to complete my sketchbook page and start to generate research sheets
emphasising my theme and areas that inspire me the most.
