Time May Change Me

The Gif “Time May Change Me” is a piece inspired by the incredible career of David Bowie. The 29 illustrations reflect Bowies career from 1964-2014 and present his movement and development throughout his life. Also, the illustrations reflect Bowies influence in music and fashion throughout his career. The Gif also presents David Bowies personality and his characters such as Ziggy Stardust which was an iconic moment in his career. I find this Gif animation an incredible tribute to David Bowie because it reflects his personality, movement in music and fashion. This short Gif presents David Bowies influence in music and how he has developed from the start of his career to the end. I believe that the illustration presents David Bowies passion for music and how he has worked throughout his career. I think that this simple piece summarises his incredible career and how he has inspired generations. The piece highlights his iconic appearances by Helen using bold colours but also simple portraiture features.
Lady Gaga Evolution 2015
The Gif was commission for Refinery29
which celebrates Lady Gaga most iconic looks. The piece was released a week
ahead of her lead appearance in 'American Horror Story: Hotel'. The piece is
inspired by Lady Gagas pop career and her movement in fashion. The piece is
similar to “Time May Change Me” because Helen Green uses simple portraiture
features and bold colours to express the icons personality, career and fashion.
I find this Gif piece engaging because it presents all the iconic outfits that
Lady Gaga has worn in her career so far. It presents how Lady Gaga has inspired
a generation and how we can express ourselves through elements such as fashion.
Overall, I find Helen Greens work
fantastic because she explores a variety media to express her portraiture
illustration. She looks at a variety of fashion and music movements for her
pieces which gives individuality to her work as she has interpreted these
elements. I find it interesting how she has taken icons from different
movements and created bold pieces that reflect the individual styles and personalities.
I also like how Helen Green creates pieces of work which incorporate her choice
of music and hobbies.
